Province is endowed with subtropical fruits and\nas yet untapped land for primary agriculture production.\nLimpopo Province has economically competitive sectors\nin all five districts. Mopani and Vhembe are notably\ncompetitive in the primary production of subtropical\nfruits such as avocados, macadamia nuts, mango,\nlichi, quava and banana. The districts of Sekhukhune,\nWaterburg and Capricorn are richly endowed with grain,\nmeat and potatoes production respectively.\n\nThe AGRI-Business Division facilitates agro-processing\nbusiness establishments, ventures and enterprises to\nincrease the beneficiation of the abundant agricultural\nindustrial base. This objective is encapsulated in the\nNational Development Plan, the Limpopo Development\nPlan, and other plans that endeavour to localize\nproduction, processing, packaging and distribution\nof end products derived from the agricultural output\nproduced in the Province.\n\nThe success of agro-processing strategy for the\nprovinces hinges on LEDA\u2019s critical role of mobilizing\nenterprises and aspirant entrepreneurs, information\ndissemination on various media platforms, feasibility\nstudies and mobilization of funding through internal\nand external sources for joint ventures. Also crucial\nis that there is effective collaboration between LEDA\nand Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural\ndevelopment (LDARD). Situated in\nLebowakgomo Industrial Park, at full capacity the\nfacility will process and package 20 000 chickens per\n8hour shift. It is estimated that at the commencement\nof the operation, the production will only run one\nshift with options to add additional shifts over time.\nThe white meat is fast becoming a preference for\nconsumers world-wide. It is envisaged that the\nAbattoir will become an industry player in the market\nthat is characterised by fast moving consumer\nproducts and services.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"color: #92981b;\"><strong>MIDI TEA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody style=\"background-color: white;\">\n<tr>\n<td>Stiff competition in the fast moving consumer\ngoods continues to determine the fate of emerging\nenterprises regardless of their location because\nsuccess in the market is dependent on efficiency and\nability to exceed customer expectations. The Tea\nEstate of Ventico, continues to produce good quality\ntea for self packaging and also for bulk sales to other\nclients for resale downstreamDuring the year under review, LEDA intensified its\nsales and Marketing strategy to push more and\nmore volumes of midi tea through retail stores in the\nprovince, to date the tea is sold in different packages\nin leading retail stores of Spar in both Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The SOC is registered in terms of Schedule 3(d) of the Public Management Finance Act (PFMA), Companies Act and Special Economic Zones Act. It is currently wholly owned by the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) and it has its own board of directors, which is representative of various stakeholders including the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC).
